What You Can Do For Your Child’s Teeth At Home

Child-Teeth

Brushing and flossing at least twice a day is the best way to prevent cavities. However, that is not the most important factor in preventing decay.  The foods we eat and the liquids we drink have a major effect on our oral health.  Even more important is HOW we eat and drink.  We recommend avoiding “grazing” on snack foods and “sipping” on acidic drinks.  Designated meal and snack times for all foods and any drink other than water will help to prevent feeding the bacteria that cause cavities.  One other recommendation that Dr. Saydyk favors is to floss your teeth while you watch TV to help build the habit.
