Whatever You're Experiencing, You Don't Have to Wait

Dental emergencies are overwhelming. Not knowing if your situation “counts” makes it worse. Here’s what we see and treat every day – if yours is on this list, call us now.

Severe Toothache

Persistent or intense tooth pain that interferes with daily life or sleep is a signal that something needs immediate attention.

Broken or Chipped Tooth

A fractured tooth can expose sensitive nerves and worsen quickly. We’ll assess the damage and restore it as efficiently as possible.

Knocked-Out Tooth

Time is critical. Call us immediately – reimplantation is often possible within the first hour. Keep the tooth moist and come in now.

Dental Abscess or Infection

Swelling, fever, or a painful bump on the gums can indicate a serious infection. This requires urgent attention to prevent spreading.

Lost Crown or Filling

When a crown or filling comes out, the underlying tooth becomes exposed and vulnerable. We’ll protect and restore it promptly.

Wisdom Tooth Pain

Impacted or partially erupted wisdom teeth can cause intense pressure and swelling. We’ll evaluate and recommend the best course of action.

Facial or Gum Swelling

Unexplained facial swelling, especially with pain or difficulty breathing, requires immediate evaluation.

Dental Trauma from Injury

Sports impacts, falls, or accidents affecting your teeth or jaw deserve immediate evaluation, even if pain seems manageable at first.

Not sure if your situation is an emergency?
Call us anyway – our team will help you determine the right next step. We’d rather talk it through than have you wait.
How It Works

Your Path to Relief - Start to Finish

We’ve made the emergency appointment process as simple and stress-free as possible. Here’s what to expect from your first call to your first moment of relief.
1

Call Us

Tell us what’s going on. Our team asks a few quick questions and gets you scheduled – in most cases, today.
2

Come In

Arrive at our Gilbert office. We’ll welcome you promptly and get you comfortable right away – no long waits in a waiting room in pain.
3

Understand Your Options

Dr. Saydyk examines the area, takes any needed X-rays, and explains clearly what’s happening and what your choices are – before anything else is done.
4

Find Relief

We’ll treat the immediate issue and give you a clear plan for any follow-up care – so you leave feeling better and knowing what comes next.
First Aid Guidance

While You Wait, Here's What Helps

Until you’re in the chair, these steps can reduce discomfort and protect the affected area. Call us first – then follow the guidance below for your situation.

Toothache

Rinse gently with warm salt water and apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling. Over-the-counter pain relief can help manage discomfort in the meantime.

Broken or Chipped Tooth

Rinse gently with warm water and apply a cold compress to your cheek. If you find any tooth fragments, keep them moist in a damp cloth or saline – bring them with you.

Knocked-Out Tooth

Time matters most here. Hold the tooth by the crown only, rinse without scrubbing, and gently place it back in the socket if you’re able. If not, store it in milk or saline and call us immediately – every minute counts.

Swelling or Abscess

Use a cold compress to help manage swelling – do not apply heat. Avoid pressing the area. Infections can worsen fast, so call us right away even if pain seems manageable.

Bleeding That Won't Stop

Rinse gently and apply steady, gentle pressure with clean gauze or a cloth. If bleeding hasn’t slowed after 10 minutes, come in or head to urgent care.

Not sure if your situation is an emergency? One call is all it takes – we’ll help you figure out exactly what to do next.

What Our Patients Say

Common Questions

Emergency Dentistry - Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question we haven’t answered? Call us directly – our team is happy to help.

We strongly encourage calling ahead – even a quick 2-minute call helps us prepare for your arrival and reduces your wait time significantly. That said, if you walk in with a dental emergency, we will do our absolute best to fit you in. Calling first is always the fastest path to care.

A dental emergency is any situation involving significant pain, risk of infection, trauma to a tooth or the mouth, or a condition that is getting worse. This includes severe toothaches, broken or knocked-out teeth, lost crowns or fillings, dental abscesses, facial swelling, or soft tissue injuries. If you’re unsure – call us. We’d rather hear from you and determine together that you can wait than have you wait when you shouldn’t.

We reserve dedicated time slots every day specifically for emergency patients. Most patients who call during business hours can be seen the same day, often within a few hours of calling. New patients are always welcome – you do not need to be an existing patient to access same-day emergency care at Stone Ridge Dental.

The cost of an emergency visit depends on what we find and what treatment is needed. We will always give you a clear cost estimate before beginning any treatment, so there are no surprises. If you have dental insurance, emergency exams and diagnostic X-rays are typically covered. For patients without insurance, our $99 new patient visit is a great starting point, and we offer flexible financing options including CareCredit and our in-house savings plan.

We are in-network with most major dental insurance plans, including Delta Dental, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Ameritas, and more. Call us or mention your insurance when you book – our team will verify your benefits before you arrive so you know exactly what to expect.

No insurance is not a barrier to emergency care. We offer several options: our $99 new patient special covers a comprehensive exam, full-mouth X-rays, cleaning, and fluoride – an exceptional value. We also offer our Stoneridge Gold Plan, an in-house membership that provides significant discounts across all services. CareCredit and Compassionate Finance are also accepted, offering low or no-interest payment plans to spread the cost over time.

Yes. We offer sedation dentistry options for patients who experience anxiety or need more complex treatment during an emergency visit. Our team will review your situation and discuss what sedation options are appropriate for the care you need. Please mention any anxiety or concerns when you call – we want your experience to be as calm and comfortable as possible.

Act fast – the first 60 minutes are critical for the best chance of saving the tooth. Handle the tooth by the crown (the white part), not the root. Gently rinse it with clean water if it’s dirty, but do not scrub or use soap. Try to place it back in the empty socket if you can. If that’s not possible, keep it moist in a cup of milk, saline, or even your own saliva. Call us immediately and come in right away – every minute counts.
Our goal at every emergency visit is to address the root cause of the problem – not just mask the symptoms. Depending on your situation, we may be able to complete definitive treatment the same day. In some cases, we’ll stabilize the area, relieve the immediate pain, and schedule a follow-up for more extensive work. Either way, you’ll leave knowing exactly what’s going on and what the plan is – never in the dark.

Yes, we welcome patients of all ages at Stoneridge Dental. If your child experiences a dental emergency – whether from a fall, sports injury, or sudden pain – call us right away. Our team is experienced in handling pediatric dental emergencies with a calm, gentle approach that helps kids feel as comfortable as possible during a stressful time.

Most dental emergencies are best handled by a dentist, not a hospital emergency room. ERs can treat pain and infections with medication, but they typically cannot perform dental procedures. If you’re experiencing difficulty breathing or swallowing, severe uncontrolled bleeding, or facial trauma involving bones, go to the ER immediately. For all other dental emergencies during our office hours, calling Stone Ridge Dental directly will get you faster, more effective care.
